MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University senior sociology major Alexander Breckenridge recently passed his level five Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

The JLPT is a Japanese language proficiency test administered by the Japan Foundation. It is given worldwide for students of Japanese to test their language proficiency level.

The test is given once a year in the United States, and a JLPT certificate is recognized worldwide as proof of a student's proficiency level. It can also be used by students of Japanese to gain admission to a university in Japan or for company recruitment.
