International Day of Peace Celebration Sept. 22

MACOMB, IL – An International Day of Peace Celebration will be held at Western Illinois University at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the University Union Lamoine Room.

The day is celebrated worldwide as a time devoted to "commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples."

The event is being hosted by the WIU Center for International Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences and the WIU Department of Political Science. It will feature a musical performance by the Music Therapy Ensemble, presentations, discussions and snacks.
