The Western Illinois University Career Development Center and Instructional Development Services (IDS) in the WIU College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) will host a free Career and Technology Mini-Conference for job seekers Thursday, Nov. 3 on the WIU-Macomb campus. The event, "This Is Not Your Parent's Job Search," is a series of sessions that will start at 1 p.m. Sessions are open free to Western students, faculty and staff.

MACOMB, IL — The Western Illinois University Career Development Center and Instructional Development Services (IDS) in the WIU College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) will host a free Career and Technology Mini-Conference for job seekers Thursday, Nov. 3 on the WIU-Macomb campus. The event, "This Is Not Your Parent's Job Search," is a series of sessions that will start at 1 p.m. Sessions are open free to Western students, faculty and staff.

Sessions include:


  • 1-2:30 p.m. — Creating an Online Portfolio with WIX, Horrabin Hall 111
  • 2-2:30 p.m. — Video Résumés, Horrabin Hall 104
  • 3-3:30 p.m. — Tweet Your Way to a Job, Horrabin Hall 104
  • 3:30-5 p.m. — Infographic Résumés, Horrabin Hall 111
  • 4-4:30 p.m. — Skype Interviewing, Horrabin Hall 1
  • 5 p.m. Presentation by Jessica Schaeffer, marketing director at LaSalle Network, via Skype in Horrabin Hall 1
