MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) will host an Education Career Fair from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, March 31 in the Horrabin Hall gymnasium.

Students from the WIU Educator Preparation Program, who are seeking employment or are interested in enhancing their professional communication and networking skills are invited to attend and meet with districts and organizations at the fair. The event is also open to any student or alumni from teacher education programs across the state. Schools and school districts can also register as employers.

"The Education Career Fair came from conversations we have had with regional school principals and superintendents," said COEHS Dean Erskine Smith. "Illinois is fighting a teacher shortage right now. This event will serve to bring together our graduating teacher candidates and the schools that are in need of qualified teachers."

Career fairs, such as this one, are a great way to learn about openings school districts have and to build relationships with school officials.

Students should bring their resumé and come dressed professionally.
