Vohra to Deliver Minority Health Month Keynote Address April 25

MACOMB, IL – Dr. Sameer Vohra, executive director of the Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine's Office of Population Science and Policy, will deliver "Building Community Coalitions to Address Health Disparities," the keynote address for Minority Health Month, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 in the University Union Lincoln Room.

The lecture is open free to the public.

Vohra is also a pediatrician and an assistant professor of pediatrics and medical humanities. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Chicago, earned a master's degree in public policy at the University of Chicago, a medical doctorate at the SIU School of Medicine, a juris doctorate at the SIU School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.

Vhora was awarded a U.S. Fulbright Scholarship in 2004 and the 2014 American Medical Association Foundation's Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award, and in 2016, he was named an Edgar Fellow as one of 40 emerging political and policy leaders in Illinois.

The SIU School of Medicine's Office of Population Science and Policy is a research and policy think tank, which seeks to improve health outcomes in central and southern Illinois.
