WIU Students Visit Law School as Part of New 3+3 Partnership

MACOMB, IL – As part of the new accelerated admissions partnership between Western Illinois University (departments of history, political science and English) and the John Marshall Law School (JMLS) in Chicago, a group of WIU students visited the law school in late April.
 
The agreement allows WIU students to spend their last year of undergraduate study completing their first year of law school at JMLS, after taking the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Students must have earned at least 90 WIU semester hours, with the additional 30 hours required for a bachelor's degree in one of the three departments.
 
The WIU students were accompanied to JMLS by Assistant Professor of Political Science Kimberly Rice.
 
"The visit planned by John Marshall was incredible and the students had an amazing time," said Rice. "The visit included a complete tour given by an accomplished and nationally recognized law school student, a lunch with current student ambassadors, a rare opportunity to participate in a contracts class and a meeting with a professor who runs one of John Marshall's legal clinics. Overall, the students who attended the visit left invigorated and excited about their future in law."
