'West Fest' Comes to WIU May 2

MACOMB, IL -- The University Union Board at Western Illinois University will present "West Fest," beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 in the University Union Grand Ballroom.

The event will feature performances by rapper Waka Flocka Flame and solo artist Jesse McCartney.

Waka Flocka Flame rose to popularity around 2009, and now has a total of 50 singles, 20 mix tapes and two studio albums.

McCartney began his career in the late 1990s as an actor, portraying "JR Chandler" in the soap opera "All My Children." His musical career started when he joined the boy band "Dream Street." He later became a solo artist.

Tickets for "West Fest" are $10 for students and $15 for non-students. There is also a $50 package offering a meet and greet with McCartney at 5 p.m. May 2 and admission to the show. Doors open for the concert at 6 p.m.
