MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Music will present "A Celebration of Organ Music" by adjunct organ instructor Linda Andrews at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at the First Presbyterian Church, 400 E. Carroll St., Macomb.

Macomb High School senior Gibson Blankenship will also be featured on the alto saxophone. The program will be performed in memory of WIU Biology Professor Emeritus Paul Nollen.

Andrews, who has been teaching at WIU since Fall 2012, is an alumnus of WIU, having earned the Bachelor of Arts in music education. Further study was completed at Northwestern University, when she was awarded the Master of Music degree.

Nollen taught biology at WIU for 32 years. In addition to his many honors and awards in the biology department, music always played an important part in his life. He developed an appreciation for the sounds of the pipe organ and its music.

Nollen attended many organ recitals and was one of the first to show support both verbally and financially for the WIU Organ Teaching Fund. To honor his memory, a free will offering will be received for the WIU Organ Teaching Fund. (Checks may be made payable to the WIU Foundation with a note on the memo line noting organ teaching fund.)
