Knoblauch Cafe Opens Feb. 26 for Tuesday and Thursday Meals

MACOMB, IL – The Knoblauch Café will open for the Spring 2019 semester Tuesday, Feb. 26 and will serve meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in the Knoblauch Hall Corporate Dining Room, 239. 

Each meal is $7, which includes a beverage and dessert. Carry-outs are available. 

The meals are organized and run by students in the WIU Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality (DFMH). The Knoblauch Café provides students with hands-on experience running a foodservice facility.

This semester's menu includes:

Tuesday, Feb. 26
Bow tie pasta with tomato cream sauce, Greek salad, bruschetta and strawberry trifle

Thursday, Feb. 28
Turkey or veggie club, Mediterranean pasta salad and cheesecake shooter

Tuesday, March 5
Grilled chicken Caesar salad/veggie Caesar salad, broccoli cheese soup, breadstick and chocolate cake with buttercream frosting

Thursday, March 7
Herbed pork tenderloin/veggie stuffed Portobello mushroom, roasted smashed potatoes and confetti cupcake

Tuesday, March 19
Hawaiian ham and cheese sliders/Hawaiian roll caprese sliders, loaded baked potato soup and Ghiradelli triple chocolate brownie sundae

Thursday, March 21
BBQ chicked/eggplant cutlets, glazed carrots, herbed rice and cherry turnover

Tuesday, March 26
Turkey panini/ veggie panini, Asian sesame salad, s'more cupcake

Thursday, March 28
Spinach stuffed manicotti, Olive Garden salad, garlic Texas toast and angel food cake

Tuesday, April 2
Chicken quesadilla/veggie quesadilla, southwest corn salad with tortilla chips, raspberry cheesecake cupcake

Thursday, April 4
Ham and cheese panini/pesto grilled cheese panini, fuji apple salad and red velvet cupcake

Tuesday, April 9
Roasted lemon chicken/spinach quiche, mixed vegetables, twice baked potato and gooey butter cake

Thursday, April 11
Chicken tacos/veggie tacos, Santa Fe salad and apple pie taco

Tuesday, April 16
Lasagna/veggie lasagna, wedge salad, cheese biscuit and tiramisu mousse

Thursday, April 18
Oven fried buffalo chicken/stuffed pepper, cheesy potato casserole, green beans and lemon raspberry cake

Tuesday, April 23
Thai chicken lettuce wrap/veggie wrap, mini egg rolls, fried rice and chocolate layer torte

Thursday, April 25
BBQ chicken flatbread/ margherita flatbread, strawberry salad with poppy seed dressing and fruit pizza
