Araya to Speak Friday as Part of Physics Department’s Lecture Series on Nobel Prizes

MACOMB, IL – As part of the Western Illinois University Physics Department's Lecture Series on Nobel Prizes, Associate Professor of Physics Esteban D. Araya will present "Understanding the Evolution of the Universe and Earth's Place in the Cosmos" at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in Currens Hall, room 205.

The lecture is in celebration of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics, awarded to James Peebles, Michael Mayor and Didier Queloz. The 2019 prize was awarded for "contributions to our understanding of the evolution of the universe and Earth's place in the cosmos" and for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star.
