MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Six Western Illinois University Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during a ceremony in August.

Major General Rodney Faulk, deputy commanding general-support, First Army, Rock Island Arsenal (IL) spoke to the cadets before the commissioning, and LTC Joan Sommers, Military Science professor, swore them in as second lieutenants.

The six WIU cadets who took the oath of office of a commissioned officer include:

Luke Glynn, of Plainfield, IL, received his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration. He will commission as an active duty signal officer.

Daniel Leon, of Chicago, IL, received his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration. He will commission as an active duty armor officer.

Andrew Martin, of Springfield, IL, received his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration. He will serve in the Illinois National Guard as a chemical officer.

Jacob Poore, of Macomb, IL, received his bachelor's degree in finance. He will commission as an active duty finance officer.

Logan Turley, of Carlinville, IL received his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration. He will commission as an active duty signal officer.

Nicholas Zelehovitis, of Joliet, IL, received his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration. He will serve in the Illinois National Guard as a transportation officer.
