MACOMB, IL – The online RN to BSN program of Western Illinois University's School of Nursing has been named one of the top 25 best programs in the nation for 2022.

WIU ranked 20th on the list, which was compiled by Value Colleges.

This week, the WIU School of Nursing learned that 100 percent of its 30 Spring 2021 graduates passed their National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) examination on the first attempt.

"We work with nurses to assist them in completing our program in a timely manner to meet their needs," said WIU School of Nursing Director P. Lea Monahan.

Value Colleges commended WIU for consistently ranking among the best online BSN programs in Illinois.

"WIU's BSN completion program requires degree candidates to complete classes in genetics in health care, trans cultural nursing, health assessment, nursing research, and pathophysiology and psychopathology, among others," Value Colleges noted.

WIU began offering its Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Fall 2009. The online programming was one of many components added since the program's introduction.

WIU's post licensure BSN degree program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is designed to provide options to working nurses.
