Eskridge Named COAA Advisor of the Month for February

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Law Enforcement and Justice Administration, Fire Science and Exercise Science Academic Advisor Monica Eskridge has been named the Council of Academic Advisors (COAA) Advisor of the Month for February 2022.

Eskridge was nominated for the award by an LEJA student, who said she made enrolling at WIU "a breeze, especially since I was out of state."

"My friends back home struggled to make an appointment with their counselors, whereas I was able to reach out to my advisor with a quick email," the nominating student said. "While she has a lot of students under her, I really feel like I was remembered. She went above and beyond recommending classes that work well with my major, and it was the extra mile I didn't expect. Honestly, it's a huge reason why I have chosen to stay at the school."

Each month a WIU advisor will be honored with a bookstore voucher. Award winners are decided by a committee that considers the applications each month.
