Joan Baril Obituary

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Retired Western Illinois University faculty member Joan Ann (Nicholson) Baril of East Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 17 at home surrounded by family.
Baril was an associate instructor of operations management at the WIU-QC campus. She enjoyed teaching and mentoring students, being part of the WIU community and was a positive and thoughtful colleague and friend to many.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA, with visitation being held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at the same location.
Baril is survived by her husband Stephen Baril, of Davenport; children, Peter D. Baril, of East Moline and Mary Elizabeth Baril, of Rock Island; mother, Caroline Nicholson, of Davenport; and sister-in-law, Monica Nicholson, of Rock Island.
