WIU ROTC Program to host Chinook Helicopter for Campus Training Session Oct. 27

MACOMB, IL – The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program at Western Illinois University will host a Chinook helicopter on campus from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Vince Grady Field.

The event is open free to the public, and guests are invited to talk to the flight crew while the ROTC cadets are conducting on-site training. The helicopter, which is part of the Illinois Army National Guard, will land on Vince Grady Field prior to the training.

The session is part of the Field Training Exercises (FTX) cadets from WIU battalion will take part in from Oct. 27-30, which also includes camping in a remote section of McDonough County.
