WIU CBT to Host ProChat Speaker Series for Professional Development

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology (CBT) will host the ProChat Speaker Series for Professional Development every Thursday and Friday starting Thursday, Feb. 2 in Stipes Hall. The event is open to any WIU student.

"We feel strongly about helping our students outside of the classroom," said Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management Honey Zimmerman. "This series will prepare students for the upcoming spring career fair season."

Each workshop will allow students to put their best foot forward as they search for an internship or career post-graduation. This series is sponsored and promoted by different CBT organizations in response to the feedback from recruiters from the Fall 2022 career fairs.

The workshop schedule will include:


  • Thursday, Feb. 2, 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Building Your Personal Network, sponsored by the Supply Chain Management Student Association (SCMSA).

  • Friday, Feb. 3, 1-2 p.m.: Dressing for Success, sponsored by the Marketing Club.

  • Thursday, Feb. 9, 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Making Your Resume Stand Out, sponsored by Women in Business (WIB).

  • Friday, Feb. 10, noon-1 p.m.: Finding a Good Company Fit, sponsored by Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
