MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology (CBT) is eager to announce the upcoming partnership with Knack Tutoring. Beginning Fall 2023, enrolled CBT students will have access to free on-demand tutoring services, fostering an environment of growth and exceptional achievement.

To ensure peer tutors are well-prepared, students will undergo comprehensive training accredited by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This commitment ensures students will receive unparalleled academic support from their peers.

"We strongly believe that the Knack peer tutoring platform will empower our students, foster personal growth and support students' academic success in business and technology fields," WIU CBT Dean Craig Conrad said. "By supporting student retention, peer tutoring will help the WIU College of Business and Technology achieve its goal of preparing the next generation of business and technology innovators to thrive in an evolving, interconnected global economic environment."

Expanding beyond peer-based assistance, this collaboration will also grant the CBT students access to a network of on-demand professional tutors. This dual support system has been carefully designed to address the diverse academic needs of
students, ensuring that they receive timely help when they need it the most.

"Connecting our students to on-demand, around-the-clock peer-driven tutoring has great potential for increasing academic support when and where they need it the most," said WIU Director of Business Advising Sara Lytle.

A key highlight of this partnership is the significant investment in WIU students. By dedicating a portion of the funding to Knack Tutoring, a direct financial benefit will return to students through tutor payments. This will enhance the professional development opportunities for WIU students and contribute to on-campus economic development.
