MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Engineering and Technology will be hosting a weekly seminar series every Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. on the Quad Cities campus in Riverfront Hall, room 111. This seminar series is open to all WIU students and will cover various topics related to engineering and technology in the region.

The following is the schedule for the Engineering and Technology Seminar Series:

  • Wednesday, Aug. 30: Olsson

  • Wednesday, Sept. 27: Westermeyer Industries

  • Wednesday, Oct. 4: Bruner, Cooper & Zuck, Inc.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 11: Hutchison Engineering

  • Attendance at these seminars may be required for certain courses and scholarships. Students who wish to attend can enroll in ENGR 100 Engineering Study and Seminar, a zero-credit, repeatable course that does not charge tuition.

  • Would you like to host a seminar on campus?
This is a great opportunity to introduce your organization, discuss employment opportunities and highlight recruiting activities to interested students. Typically, info sessions last for 20 to 30 minutes and include a presentation followed by Q&A and networking time. However, organizations can get creative with the approach. Employers have found success with hosting coffee chats, lunch and learns, trivia or game nights, site visits and tours, or even providing gift bags for finals week. If you're interested in hosting a seminar, visit form.jotform.com/230674710783055 and reserve a Wednesday to present.
