WIU Emergency Management Program Partners With D4H to Empower Future Managers

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University's Emergency Management Program, within the School of Law of Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA), is eager to announce a partnership with D4H. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the ongoing commitment to advancing emergency management and preparedness worldwide.

WIU is renowned for its bachelor's degree in Public Safety and Emergency Management programs, which produce exceptional talent in the field. Together with D4H, the partnership aims to empower students with real-world experience, using D4H's intuitive emergency management software platform in the WIU Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and classrooms.

"We're delighted to partner with WIU's Emergency Management Program. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our mission to support the next generation of emergency management professionals. We're excited to bring our software to WIU's outstanding program and provide students with real-world tools to excel in their careers," Founder and CEO of D4H Robin Blandford said.

WIU's Emergency Management students will gain hands-on experience with D4H's industry-leading software, preparing them for the challenges they will face as future emergency managers and practitioners. Students will have the opportunity to leverage D4H's technology to streamline information, communicate effectively with external stakeholders and make data-driven decisions during emergencies.

I really appreciate that in the company. Working with D4H has been a joy, and I really love the product," WIU LEJA Program Assistant Director Jamie Johnson said.

Johnson shares his experience working with D4H and reflects on the high level of service and commitment they have providing partners and customers. WIU takes pride in fostering a community where feedback is welcomed and enhances products based on the needs of users. As the University moves forward with this partnership, WIU is eager to build on positive experiences and continue working together to elevate emergency management education and preparedness.

As part of this partnership, WIU looks forward to working closely with D4H and engaging in joint initiatives. In collaboration with D4H, WIU will share more insights, success stories and updates. Additionally, a Bravo Zulu live stream will launch in January following a full-scale emergency management exercise. On the live stream, Johnson will discuss the department's experiences with D4H and the insights gained from the exercise.
