WIU CBT to Host CEO Leadership Summit Nov. 10

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology (CBT) will partner with Midland Institute to host the first regional CEO Leadership Summit from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in Stipes Hall, room 121.

The summit is designed for high school students currently in the CEO (Creating Entrepreneur Opportunities) program.

"This leadership conference will give regional CEO students an opportunity to network and build relationships with other CEO students. Students will hear from the leadership team at Midland Institute as well as attend multiple small group sessions," said - - -. "The summit will allow students to engage with specialists to expand leadership skills, strengthen business acumen, and ignite entrepreneurial spirit."

Warren "Bunny" Weiss, WIU alumnus, is the keynote speaker for the summit. He will share about his entrepreneurial background and experience as founder and partner at Westwave Capital as an investor in tech start-ups.

The schedule of events include:
9 a.m. - Welcome
9:30 a.m. - Keynote presentation by Warren "Bunny" Weiss
10:05 a.m. - Breakout Session 1
11 a.m. - Lunch
12:05 p.m. - Breakout Session 2
12:50 p.m. - Breakout Session 3
1:30 p.m. - Closing program

While the summit is specifically designed for high school students in the CEO program, WIU students are encouraged to attend and participate.
