Moreno named Advisor of the Month for December

MOLINE, IL— The Western Illinois University Awards & Recognition committee proudly names Kim Moreno, academic advisor for ELED: Elementary Education, as WIU Advisor of the Month for December.

Moreno has been honored with this recognition following a nomination by a student who expressed admiration and appreciation for her dedication to WIU and the department she serves.

"She has really gone above and beyond to help me get through this program. I am not a traditional student. Not only am I over 40, but I use a manual wheelchair.

The nomination focused on Moreno's commitment to excellence in academic advising.

"There are a lot of obstacles to attaining state licensure, and a lot of the time, I am in a state of confusion as to what I need to do.

Moreno has stayed on top of things and lets me know what needs to get done. I honestly and truly believe she is deserving of this award," her nominator said.

This recognition showcases Moreno's impact on the academic community at WIU and her commitment to supporting and enriching the lives of students in the ELED program.
