WIU to Host Education Law Conference April 12

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services will host the Administrator's Roundtable: Education Law Conference for K-12 administrators, teachers and school board members on Friday, April 12 on the Macomb campus.

"The Administrator's Roundtable initiative is an excellent way for our Rural School District Superintendent to connect, share experiences, and discuss best practices. This Law Conference is an excellent way to have conversations about new and current laws and how they relate to our rural settings" Regional Superintendent of Schools, Fulton, Hancock, McDonough, Schuyler ROE26 said.

This year's event focuses on topics such as statutory changes to tenure, Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) updates, employee contract management, school bullying and review of records issues in school districts.

The legal experts presenting include Jay Greening from Miller, Hall and Triggs, LLC, Chad Watkins representing the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) and Jeff Funk of Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk and Miller, Ltd.

Registration is free and available at wiu.edu/coehs/.

Event sponsors include WIU School of Education and ROE 26.
