MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University and Quad Cities communities are invited to attend a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the newly-renovated Chemistry classroom on the WIU-Quad Cities campus at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3 in Building A on the WIU-Quad Cities campus.

The classroom renovation was funded by a generous grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust. The grant allowed WIU to upgrade an existing lab on campus with safety equipment, storage capacity and laboratory equipment that enables the Quad Cities campus to offer WIU's introductory sequence of Chemistry courses.

For the event, parking will be available on the west side of Building A, with a direct entrance through the Library or on the south side of Building C. The ribbon cutting will take place outside Room 1218.

After the ribbon cutting, attendees will be able to tour the facility and meet Chemistry Instructor Garima Mishra, who is finishing her first semester teaching Chemistry courses at WIU-Quad Cities.
