MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's School of Agriculture senior Katlin Tapley has been awarded the Outstanding Chapter President by the Collegiate Farm Bureau. Tapley is a senior at WIU and is a member of the McDonough County Farm Bureau (CFB) and WIU Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter.

The Outstanding Chapter President is an award given to the chapter president who excels at what they do through all of the activities that they do throughout the year, including, attending conferences, increasing student engagement and working toward the chapter's goals. Someone from the chapter or the chapter president will nominate them by filling out an application and giving a testimony about why they should be chosen.

"This award is truly an honor that I could have never dreamed of. I worked so hard because I knew that these members care deeply about the organization and agriculture with a passion," Tapley said. "That's what drives me to continue to improve our chapter and work toward bettering our agriculture community. If I have anyone to thank, it would be our members and our advisor, Jana Knupp, for always supporting my crazy ideas and supporting me along the way, especially considering I wouldn't take no for an answer. I cannot wait to see the great things that WIU students will continue to do in the Collegiate Farm Bureau!"
