MACOMB, IL - - The New York dance and choreography team of Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer will present a recital Saturday, Sept. 20 at Western Illinois University. The 8 p.m. performance will be held in the Brophy Hall Studio Theatre, home to Western's University Dance Troupe (UDT).

Bridgman worked with Western's UDT students during the Spring 2003 semester as a guest artist in residence, teaching students about partnering and the art of duet dancing.

Bridgman and Packer, a choreography and dance duo since 1978, are acclaimed for their physical, sensual and humorous dance style. Washington Post critic Alan Kriegsman called Packer and Bridgman "unusually deft and magnetic performers... Their dancing is at once suave, powerful, controlled, loose and incisive."

They have received six National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Choreography Fellowships and two NEA Dance Company Grants as well as two New York Foundation for the Arts Choreography Fellowships.

Tickets - - $5 for the public, $4 for students and seniors - - for the performance will be available at the door. For more information, contact Heidi Clemmens, UDT codirector, at 309-298-1707.
