Physics Department Presents "The Lord of the Rings" Illusions

MACOMB, IL - - Students of all ages, families and friends are invited to a fun-filled evening of amazing demonstrations set to the theme of “The Lord of the Rings” by the Western Illinois University physics department Thursday, March 25.

The 6:30 p.m. presentation, open free to the public, will be held in Currens Hall 205.

Thrill to the Gollumizer, be mystified by SarumanÂ’s vortex of fire, see the re-enactment of the siege of Minas Tirith and marvel at the awesome magnetic jumping ring. Inanimate pipes will sing, a hobbit will ride a rocket and there will be many more amazing feats. Spectators can even enjoy snacking on FrodoÂ’s frozen marshmallows.
