Minority Internship Program at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University is offering a semester-long paid internship sponsored by the Illinois Board of Higher Education. The internship allows fulltime junior, senior or graduate minority students to combine work and learning experience.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with decision makers in their respective fields, develop personal interests and expand career opportunities while gaining academic credit. Interns must work 30-35 hours per week and attend monthly seminars. The fulltime interns are appointed for a minimum of one academic term and are paid $1,000 each month.
Applying undergraduates must have a minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Graduate students must have a minimum 3.25 GPA. The program is designed specifically for African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, Pacific Islander, Native American and Alaskan Native students who are U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents.
The application deadline for Spring 2005 is Oct. 15. The Summer and Fall 2005 internship deadline is March 11, 2005.
