Psychology Colloquium on Criminal Stereotypes

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University’s psychology department will host a colloquium by assistant psychology and law professor M. Kimberly MacLin of the University of Northern Iowa. She will present “Criminal Stereotypes: Structure and Function” at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 in Waggoner Hall 054.
MacLin received her Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research interests focus on criminal appearance stereotypes, the source of stereotypes and how stereotypes impact memory and decision making in a variety of legal contexts. She has co-authored several books including “Experimental Psychology: A Case Approach,” “Cognitive Psychology” and most recently “Psychology & Law.”
