WIU Cultural Diversity Cadre Hosts Potluck Dinner and Discussion November 4

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois UniversityÂ’s Cultural Diversity Cadre will host a potluck dinner and discussion about multiculturalism in films from
6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at the Alumni House, located at 1009 W. Adams Street.

The discussion will be led by educational and interdisciplinary studies Professor J.Q. Adams and English Professor Janice Welsch. They will present their recent publication, “Multicultural Films: A Reference Guide,” and several of the films they reviewed in the book.

Using clips from the films, they will lead a discussion about how films can help students come to a better understanding of race and ethnicity as it plays out in the U.S.
