Public Officials Forum at WIU October 18

MACOMB, IL - - A public officials forum with state, county and local representatives will be held from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 in the Western Illinois University Union Western Room, in the Grand Ballroom.

The forum, which was planned as a co-curricular activity for Professor William Anderson’s First Year Experience “Introduction to Political Science 101” class at Western, is open free to the public.

Speakers include State Senator John Sullivan (D-Rushville), State Rep. Rich Myers (R-Colchester), McDonough County States Attorney James Hoyle, County Clerk Florine Miller, Chief Deputy Clerk Getchen DeJaynes and Macomb Mayor Mick Wisslead. Each speaker will give a 10-minute presentation on the duties and responsibilities of their office and discuss current issues. An audience question and answer session will follow.
