MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) will hold its inaugural Faculty Innovators reunion Friday, Feb. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Horrabin Hall 1.

The reunion is designed to provide current and past participants a way to share their program successes and present their technology-enhanced teaching products or fieldwork innovation. Tabletop presentations will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with a spotlight presentation and a luncheon from noon to 1 p.m.

According to COEHS Dean Bonnie Smith-Skripps, the Faculty Innovators program began in Spring 2001. The 24-month program combines distance learning participation, hands-on workshops, one-on-one assistance, self-guided learning and peer mentorship in an attempt to raise each participantÂ’s use of technology in teaching.

“The goal of Faculty Innovators is to create a cadre of technology ‘champions’ throughout the college who can mentor their fellow faculty members and raise the standard for technology integration in teaching and learning,” Smith-Skripps added.

Members of Faculty Innovators who plan to attend the Feb. 17 reunion must register by calling Dawn Sweet at 309/298-2993 or e-mailing dr-sweet@wiu.edu by Friday, Feb. 3.
