Health Fair For Seniors April 21

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University department of health sciences, along with McDonough District Hospital, McDonough County Health Department and The Elms Nursing Home, will host a Senior Health Fair from 8 a.m.-noon Friday, April 21 at the Assembly of God Church located off of Highway 136 West, 112 Robin Road.

Professionals will be on-site to discuss senior living issues such as arthritis, cardiovascular health, hearing care, home health care, investments, Medicare Part D, senior fitness, retirement services, stroke prevention, vision care, the Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and long term care.

Health services such as balance assessment, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, fasting blood glucose, arthritis hand massage and oral cancer screening will be free to the public throughout the day. Refreshments and door prizes will also be offered.

The American Red Cross will provide transportation for seniors that need assistance. Call 309/833-5378 by noon Thursday, April 20 to schedule a ride.
