Dec. 1 Colloquium Tackles Anxiety and Depression in Youth

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University’s psychology department will conclude its Fall 2006 colloquium series with “Differentiating Anxiety and Depression Among Youth,” a 3 p.m. Friday, Dec.1 presentation by Jeff Laurent, WIU associate professor of psychology, in Waggoner Hall 54.
Laurent will discuss a series of studies that he has conducted to differentiate anxiety and depression among youth and analyze a number of measures used for diagnosis. Future research of the measures will be discussed along with applications in educational and clinical settings.
Laurent teaches assessment and school psychology courses at Western and specializes in anxiety and depression in children.
The presentation is open free to the public.
