WIU Announces Fall 2006 Graduates

MACOMB, IL - - More than 900 students earned degrees after the Fall 2006 semester at Western Illinois University.

Bachelor's degrees were awarded to more than 735 students, including 55 who were awarded Western's Board of Trustees-Bachelor of Arts degree (BOT-BA), which is designed for adult students. Academic distinction was awarded to undergraduate students who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.

Master's degrees were awarded to 170 students and post-baccalaureate certificates were awarded to nine students.

Western Illinois, established in 1899, opened the doors to its first students Sept. 23, 1902 on its residential campus located in Macomb in west-central Illinois. The WIU-Quad Cities campus in Moline, 70 miles north of Macomb, serves undergraduate and graduate students in the metropolitan Quad Cities area (western Illinois-eastern Iowa).
