Forensics Exhibit/Program at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - A forensics exhibit featuring items on loan from faculty and local law enforcement agencies will be open free to the public for viewing Tuesday, March 20 through Monday, April 30 in the Western Illinois University Physical Sciences Library, located in the round annex of Currens Hall (Room 201) on Western Ave.

Items and photos on loan are from anthropology Assistant Professor Patricia Anderson; McDonough County Coroner Larry Jameson; Sgt. John Carson, McDonough County Sheriff's Department; and Capt. Chris Jagielo, WIU Office of Public Safety.

Jagielo will also make a slide presentation of crime scene and forensic evidence at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 in the Physical Sciences Laboratory. This is also open free to the public.

A 25-year member of Western's Office of Public Safety, Jagielo previously worked with the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit.

Western Illinois offers a Bachelor of Science degree in forensic chemistry and minors in forensic chemistry, forensic psychology and forensic sciences.
