Secondary Science Ed Conference April 20 at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University will host the Sixth Annual Secondary Science Education Conference Friday, April 20 in Waggoner Hall.

The conference, designed for high school science teachers across all disciplines, will include presentations on topics including sustainability issues; forensic science; green chemistry; astronomy; nuclear physics; genetics for students with special needs; using Monarch Watch in field-based work; and a variety of activities for teaching chemistry, physics, environmental science and biology.

The conference is sponsored by Western's departments of biological sciences, chemistry and physics; the Illinois Science Teachers Association; the education division of the American Chemical Association; and the McDonough and Hancock County Regional Office of Education.
