D'Souza to Speak at WIU April 23

MACOMB, IL -- Author Dinesh D'Souza will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, April 23 in the University Union Lamoine Room. The event is open free to the public.

D'Souza, who is the Robert and Karen Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, will kick off the WIU Center for International Studies new Global Speaker Series series with a discussion of his newest book, "The Enemy at Home." His latest work provides a new analysis of 9/11 and the assumptions behind the attacks, and claims the only way to win the struggle with radical Islam is to focus on diplomacy and to convince liberal and moderal Muslims that America is on their side.

Investor's Business Daily called D'Souza "one of the top young public policy makers in the country," while the World Affairs Council lists him as one of the nation's 500 leading authorities on national issues.

D'Souza is the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including "What's So Great About America" (2002), "The Virtue of Prosperity" (2000), "The End of Racism"(1995) and "Illiberal Education" (1991). His articles have appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic Monthly, Vanity Fair, New Republic and National Review. D'Souza has also appeared on numerous television programs, including CNN, The Today Show, Nightline, The News Hour, O'Reilly Factor, Moneyline and Hannity and Colmes.
