LEJA Students Awarded Caterpillar Homeland Security Scholarships

MACOMB, IL -- Five Western Illinois University students have been awarded the Caterpillar Inc. Homeland Security Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is designed to encourage students to excel in academics, professional affiliations and civic duties while pursuing a degree in criminal justice. To be considered for the scholarship, students must be enrolled in LEJA 221, Survey of Homeland Security; must have completed 45 hours of coursework; must display leadership qualities; and have an overall grade point average of 2.75.

The following law enforcement and justice administration students were awarded the Spring 2008 scholarships: Andrew Goodapple, a senior from Quincy, IL; Julie Triggs-Redmond, a junior from Frankfort, IL ; Scott Rudesill, a junior from Bloomington, IL; Danielle Schilling, a junior from Lincoln, IL; and Michael White, a junior from Springfield, IL.
