MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University female students and employees, as well as female community residents, are needed for a study on body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage.

Beth Ewing, WIU kinesiology graduate student, is seeking females, ages 18-70 years, for her graduate thesis on the correlation between BMI and body fat. The testing, which takes approximately 40 minutes, will include waist and hip measurement, weight determination and body fat measurement and resting metabolic weight, determined by the kinesiology department's Bod Pod.

"These are great numbers for any woman to know," Ewing said. "And the best part is you will get these tests done at no charge. These typically cost at least $100 to complete in a clinical setting."

For more information or to participate in the study, contact Ewing at BA-Ewing@wiu.edu or at
309/298-1067.
