MACOMB, IL - - Wind your way through the corn maze at Western Illinois University's Horn Field Campus (HFC) every weekend this month! According to Mindy Pheiffer, program coordinator at HFC, the corn maze will be open to the public 1-5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October.

"The maze pattern is different every year, and this year it was designed by Dallas Diehl, a graduate student in the recreation, park and tourism administration department (RPTA)," Pheiffer said. "Not only does it include 'WIU' letters as in the past, but this year it also incorporates 'HFC' and 'RPTA.'"

A special "flashlight night" will be held from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 (bring your own flashlight), and the popular "Haunted Maze" will be held from 8-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Scare sites will be provided by Western RPTA students.

Cost is $5 for ages 13 and older and $2 for children ages 6 to 12 (children five and under will be admitted free). Children 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Groups are welcome. The group rate is $2 per person for groups of 15 or more.

Horn Field Campus is located south of Macomb on China Road. From South Johnson Street (past Macomb High School), turn right on China Road and follow the road one-quarter of a mile to the Horn Field Campus entrance. Parking will be permitted on the Horn Field Campus lot.
