COEHS Dean Search Underway

MACOMB, IL -- The search for a new dean for the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) is underway, according to search committee chair Inessa Levi, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at WIU.

COEHS Dean Bonnie Smith-Skripps will retire May 1, 2009, after 35 years of service. Levi anticipates candidates for the position to interview on campus during the first part of December 2008. COEHS faculty and staff are encouraged to share the job description and application information with their colleagues and professional organizations, which is available at wiu.edu/employment, she added.

"It is our intention to attract a diverse and rich candidate pool for this important position, and proceed with a thoughtful and deliberate search process to recruit the best candidate for the position of the dean of the College of Education and Human Services," Levi said.

Adams, educational and interdisciplinary studies; Carrie Alexander-Albritton, faculty representative - Quad Cities; Suzanne Boussaard, College of Arts and Sciences dean's office (search committee recording secretary); Katrina Daytner, educational and interdisciplinary studies; Nick DiGrino, COEHS associate dean; Cindy Dooley, curriculum and instruction department chair; Robert Dulski, Student Government Association president-student representative; Laura Finch, kinesiology; Karen Greathouse, dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality; Leaunda Hemphill, instructional design and technology; Marie Koissi-Kouassi, mathematics; Chris Kovacs, kinesiology; Greg Montalvo, educational and interdisciplinary studies; Lorette Oden, health sciences; Joe Rives, vice president for Quad Cities, planning and technology; Erskine Smith, dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality department chair; Paula Stull, recreation, park and tourism administration; Kristi Terry, provost's office; Barry Witten, curriculum and instruction; and Dean Zoerink, recreation, park and tourism administration.
