COEHS Dean Interviews

MACOMB, IL -- Rori Carson, assistant dean of Western Illinois University's College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), will be the first candidate to interview for the COEHS dean position, according to Inessa Levi, College of Arts and Sciences dean and chair of the search committee.

Carson's two-day interview will be held Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 19-20. Sessions with administrators, faculty, staff, students and community members on the WIU-Macomb and WIU-Quad Cities campuses are scheduled. Open sessions will be held from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the University Union Sandburg Lounge Sandburg Lounge on the WIU-Macomb campus and from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 in Room 102AB at the WIU-Quad Cities 60th Street campus.

Carson was named assistant dean in Fall 2007. She has also served as the University's special education department chair since January 2006 and as the interim department chair for counselor education from May 2006 to June 2007. She came to WIU in December 2005 as a special education professor from the University of Northern Iowa. Carson received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Western and her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

Interview dates for the remaining candidates -- George Fero, professor of education at McKendree University (Lebanon, IL); Stephen Freeman, professor and department head, counseling department, Texas A & M (Commerce, TX); and Deborah Rogers, associate dean for student services, University of Oklahoma -- will be announced when details are finalized.
