WYSE Academic Regional Challenge Feb. 10 at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - Some 125 students from five area high schools are on the Western Illinois University-Macomb campus today (Feb. 10) participating in the WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) Academic Challenge Regional Competition.

Schools compete as teams with their top students taking tests from up to seven academic subjects including English, math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and engineering graphics. The top scoring students and the top two teams in each division advance to sectional competition at Knox College (Galesburg, IL) March 14. State competition is in Champaign (IL) in April.

Today's competition is being held in Currens Hall. Results will be announced and awards will be presented at 2 p.m. in Currens Hall 203.
