MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's Visual Apparel Merchandising Organization (VAMO) and Dress for Success Peoria are sponsoring a purse drive 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in the University Union Lincoln Room.

Individuals are encouraged to donate new or gently used purses, which will be donated to economically disadvantaged women in the region. Donated purses can also be filled with new toiletry items. Event organizers will be collecting tax-deductible financial contributions for Dress for Success Peoria during the March 25 event as well. The event is open free to the public.

The Visual and Apparel Merchandising Organization (VAMO) is an active campus organization sponsored by the fashion-merchandising majors at WIU. Through VAMO, social, educational and professional opportunities are provided to students and enable them to interact with faculty, other students and retailers.
