MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- Western Illinois University's College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) will present the First Annual Graduate Research Symposia, to be held on WIU's campuses in Macomb and Quad Cities, next month.

COEHS's inaugural graduate symposium for Western's Macomb campus is open to COEHS graduate students and graduate-student alumni who have finished their advanced degrees within the last two years. The WIU-Macomb campus symposium will be held 4:30-6 p.m., Monday, April 13 in Horrabin Hall 1.

All WIU-QC graduate students and alumni (who have finished their advanced degrees within the last two years) are invited to submit proposals for the WIU-QC graduate symposium, which is slated for 4-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, in the WIU-QC building's foyer and room 102A/B.

"Western graduate students and recent alumni will have the opportunity to showcase their research and/or creative projects in tabletop format. Eligible individuals interested in participating in this event should complete the call for proposals," said Leslie O'Ryan, associate professor in WIU's counselor education department.

Participants will need to create a poster describing their research and/or creative projects. Dimensions for the tabletop poster are three by four feet, and participants who want to supplement their posters with laptops or other display items should contact Katrina Daytner, associate professor in educational and interdisciplinary studies, at (309) 298-1015 or KM-Daytner@wiu.edu, to ensure that room is available.

Proposals can be submitted online at wiu.edu/coehs/call.html. Deadline for submitting proposals is on or before April 3. Interested individuals with questions about studies involving humans, animals or radiological research can be directed to WIU's sponsored projects office at (309) 298-1191.
