MACOMB, IL - - "Art Through the Ages," celebrating artwork created by pre-kindergarten students through college-age students, will be on display in the West Central Illinois Regional Arts Center (WCIRAC) three consecutive Saturdays in April, beginning April 4.

The show will include artworks from the WIU Daycare center, Macomb public schools, West Prairie public schools, Brown County High school, Bushnell public schools and members of Western Illinois University's Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity, who are coordinating the exhibit along with recreation, park and tourism administration graduate student Kara Kinder, the Regional Arts Center intern.

Artwork from each age group will be displayed in the first floor gallery space of the new Arts Center building, located on East Side Square, and can be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, April 4, 11 and 18. The gallery is also open free to the public from noon-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

"Art Through the Ages" opening day (April 4) will include hands-on art activities for children to participate in throughout the day.

Student artwork will be judged by Ta-The Ku, an instructor in art education at Western, and by Pat Hobbes, a local artist and former Macomb public schools art teacher. Ribbons will be awarded for participation (K-4), honorable mention, award of merit and judge's choice. There will also be a People's Choice Award that will be given to the work that receives the most votes during the course of the show.
