MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Horn Field Campus (HFC) is the place to be for fun fall weekends in October. In addition to open climbing-tower hours and open high ropes course offerings most Saturdays this month, HFC is once again providing its "amazing" corn maze from 1–4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October.

Also, from 7–10 p.m. Saturday, October 24, HFC staff will holds its annual Flashlight Night (bring your own flashlight), and the Haunted Corn Maze is slated for 7–10 p.m. Saturday, October 31.

Admission for each corn maze event, as well as Flashlight Night and the Haunted Corn Maze, is $5, $2 for children ages 6–12 and children age 5 and under will be admitted free. HFC staff members request that children and teens under 16 be accompanied by a parent or guardian through the entirety of the Flashlight Night and Haunted Corn Maze events.

According to Mindy Pheiffer, Horn Field Campus program coordinator, this year during the daytime corn maze events, individuals will be able to engage in educational activities via HFC's new agri-tourism display and a recently planted fall garden.

"The display project is spearheaded by Emily Schoenfelder, HFC's graduate assistant," explained Pheiffer. "Emily will also be providing corn facts as part of the display. The garden will offer individuals the opportunity to see the progress of the crops planted in the fall season."

HFC is located south of Macomb on China Road. From South Johnson Street (past Macomb High School), turn right on China Road and follow the road one-quarter of a mile to the Horn Field Campus entrance. Parking is permitted on the HFC lot.
