MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's School of Agriculture will hold the third annual Ag Day beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 on WIU's Macomb campus. The event, which features fun activities for youngsters and educational activities for individuals of all ages, is held north of Hanson Field. The Ag Day event will continue through the Fighting Leathernecks' football game (WIU vs. North Dakota State University, game time is 1:05 p.m.) and is open to those who are attending the game.
Also available at the festivities will be "Rocky Popcorn," microwaveable purple and gold popcorn grown at the School of Agriculture's Allison Organic Research and Demonstration Farm. The $2 bags are also currently available for purchase from the School of Agriculture.
This year, the School of Agriculture is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the four-year agriculture degree program at Western. Ag Day activities, held by various agriculture-related student clubs and organizations, during this special celebration include:
