"Gandhian Thought and Human Services" Oct. 24

MACOMB, IL - - "Gandhian Thought and Human Services," a presentation sponsored by Western Illinois University's social work department, the Social Work Student Association and Phi Alpha Honor Society, is slated from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, October 24 in Horrabin Hall, room 78.

Thomas Walz, professor emeritus at the University of Iowa School of Social Work, will deliver the two-hour presentation. Currently, Walz teaches a course at the University of Iowa on Gandhi.

Walz has also served as a director of the Peace Corps in Honduras, was the former director of the School of Social Work at the University of Iowa, and is founder of the Extend a Dream Foundation.

Walz's talk is open free to the public, books will be for sale at the event and limited seating will be available.
