WIU Alum Hudgens to Present Look Inside World's Largest Live Entertainment Company

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University alumnus Ken Hudgens will present "Feld Entertainment: A Look Inside the World's Largest Live Entertainment Company," from 6:30-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 31 in Brophy Hall 224-226. Hudgens earned his master's degree in sport management from Western's kinesiology department in 1989. He earned his B.A. from Eastern Washington University.

Hudgens currently serves as chief operating officer of Feld Motorsports, where he manages day-to-day operations of the entire Feld Motorsports business, which includes 600 events domestically and internationally. He also creates and manages event budgets, event marketing, international licensing arrangements and the Feld Motorsports Production department. Feld Motorsports is a division of Feld Entertainment, Inc., which is the largest provider of live family entertainment in the world. It includes productions such as Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, Disney Live, Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam, Monster Energy AMA Supercross, AMA Arenacross, Freestyle Motocross and IHRA Drag Racing. Hudgens has been with the company since 1992. Before being promoted to the chief operating officer role, he served the company in such positions as promoter, director of booking, director of marketing and vice president of marketing and television. He previously worked as the director of marketing for the athletic department at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

According to Darlene Young, sport management graduate coordinator and internship coordinator in the WIU kinesiology department, Hudgens will focus his presentation on his career progression and Feld Entertainment's business units and operations.

"Ken's talk will focus on the job opportunities available for future students and life lessons he's gained during his career," Young explained.
